We are (now) Waypoint

The observant among you might soon notice a rather obvious change.

No, Dan hasn’t had his hair highlighted. Look again.

Closer… Closer.

OK, I’ll put you out of your misery. We’re changing our name.

We are Waypoint

We’ve taken the decision to move on from the Ocius Digital brand. For us, entering 2018 isn’t just ‘another year’ – it’s without a doubt the most significant year in our short history. It’s the year that will see us launch our largest client projects and it’s the year where we’ll be a lot more visible. We’ve been operating in stealth mode. Not many people know who we are or what we do and we want to change that.

And that was the real drive for changing the name of the business. We wanted a new name that captures the spirit of what we do and how we do it. We wanted something that was memorable, easy to say and something we could all get behind. We chose Waypoint!

Why Waypoint?

We’re not going to lie, the process of identifying a new brand identity wasn’t easy. At times, it was frustrating and yes, there were one or two hilarious moments along the way. Ideas we initially loved felt rubbish two minutes later. And names we had quickly dismissed became real contenders.

In the end, coming up on the rails was Waypoint. It arrived very late in the day but the team, as well as some of our key partners really liked it.

One of the reasons we like it is that it makes sense. Our whole philosophy is about guiding people through the mire of technology speak so that they can make smart business decisions. We guide our clients point-by-point to get to a result that works for them. And, of course, the processes and workflows that run our business have natural Waypoints as well.

2018 : The year of finding our voice

The year ahead is going to be like any other in that there will inevitably be highs and lows. That’s business and that’s life. 2017 was a massively positive year and the byproduct of that is confidence. We’re confident in the team, our processes, and more importantly, in our ability to deliver for our clients and partners. Some of our key achievements include:

  • Launching our UK Office

  • Sending staff half way across the world for Xerocon, twice

  • Completing our top three largest projects ever, all within 2017

  • Growing revenue by nearly 100% in a single year

Changing brand names is never easy or straightforward. It’s certainly not a decision we took lightly, but we’re convinced that this change will help us push the business forward and help us grow. You’ll be seeing a lot more of Waypoint over the weeks and months ahead. It’s time for us to come out of the shadows and get out of stealth mode. We no longer want to be the best-kept secret.

To our clients, suppliers, partners and other stakeholders – you’ll see domain name changes, email address changes and similar over the next few weeks but we’ll keep it all as stable as possible for you. We’ve kept the important things the same, and developed the others. Same great service, same great team, same great culture. New name, new values and mission statement, new opportunities.

Final thanks

The success we’ve enjoyed in 2017 wouldn’t be possible without our vendor partners, accounting partners and our clients. Thanks for the opportunity to work on some incredible projects.

And finally a personal thanks from Dan to the team: “They are an amazing bunch of humans who I’m proud to work with every single day. They are what makes all the magic happen and they’re also the group of people that have given me the confidence to make this change.”

So, farewell Ocius Digital, you have served us well. Enjoy your early retirement, because now we Are Waypoint.
